Difficult Things Made Easy.

The only way difficult things become easy is by continuously pushing yourself towards it…
I remember when I first got on a bike, I thought I would never get it. And every time a face something new in my life that I feel is difficult, I tell myself it’s like riding a bike — I may need training wheels in the beginning, but eventually I will get the hang of it.
Keep pushing! One day you will look back and ask yourself why you waited so long to tackle something so easy.

Have a great week Verbs!

Goals for the New Year

This blog post touched me, so I had to share. What are your goals for 2016? I personally was struggling with what mine were going to be only because I have become so much more conscience with God being a part of every goal I have for this year. I never thought to put intimacy with God on there, but now it is at the top of my list. What are your thoughts?

Proverb: Little by Little

I hope everyone is having an amazing start to their week!

I wanted to take this moment to remind you not to underestimate your small steps. Keep to the path and know that every single step you take is purposeful. Every step is one step closer to your goal. Every step you take plays a part in creating an amazing life for yourself! At times, it may seem like you should be doing more and taking bigger steps, but it is ok.

The Key: Stay Consistent

Every day take a step, big or small, and you will go as far as your heart desires.  Just don’t stop!

Wine Festival & Grape Stomping Find

This weekend’s highlight would have to be going to the Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard in Maryland to enjoy its annual wine festival. The weather was perfect and an amazing group of people were there to enjoy local wine, bands and food. The one thing I loved about this festival is the grape stomping competition! It was a lot of fun, and it was great to meet so many amazing people in the process.

It is that time of the year, and there are a lot of wine festivals/events happening this month. The next one that I plan on checking out is the Wine on the Beach Fest in Ocean City, MD. If you are going, I would love to see you there. If you know of any other amazing events that we should be checking out, please share!

Outfit Details: This best part was snapping a few amazing pictures throughout the day wearing some of my favorite fall colors. Believe it or not, my dress was only $10 from Forever 21  and my shirt is from Target for $15 bucks…. Gotta love a fab deal!

#DayoftheGirls Post Explain Why

Today was a special day to bring about spreading awareness on gender inequality around the world. Day of the Girl is a 100% youth-led movement committed to promoting the International Day of the Girl Child as a platform for change in the US, according to the Day of the Girl Facebook page. Two years ago United Nations declared October 11 as the International Day of the Girl to mobilize activist groups to come together and spread awareness.

The girl is 16. She is dancing on a rooftop near the ocean in Liberia with friends, including Katie Meyler (@katiemeyler), a 33-year-old activist and photographer from New Jersey who changed the girl’s life. “I met her in the slums. She was 11, and she asked me to help her go to school. So I did,” Katie says, making the role that she and her organization More Than Me (@morethanmeorg) have played in helping one of the poorest countries in the world sound dead simple. One year after Katie opened the More Than Me Academy, a school for girls where students see the phrase “I promise to make my dreams come true” every time they walk up the stairs, Ebola broke out in Liberia. Katie didn't flee. She fought the disease. “It was the worst hell you could imagine, and it was also ecstasy,” she says. “You had a common goal and it was urgent.” Now, Katie’s aim is to overhaul Liberia’s entire educational system, using the academy as a model. “If Liberia remains vulnerable, our girls are vulnerable to health crises and war and extremist groups that are not far away,” she says, adamant that part of supporting girls is making sure boys have access to quality education, too. “We’re pro-women and children. We’re pro-men too. We’re pro-people. Everyone can make Liberia stronger.” October 11 is International Day of the Girl Child. Not As Famous Cookie Company: A Father’s Dream, A Son’s Business

#InspirationalBusiness

Not As Famous Cookie Company is a business that was built for the sweets lover made with a family recipe that was passed down from a passionate father to a business savvy son.

I had my first bite of Not As Famous Cookie Company‘s chocolate chip pretzels, and I couldn’t put the cookies down! Its’ Oatmeal Cranberry cookies were my second favorite –This was a hard decision when I had to choose between the classic Chocolate Chip cookies and Mississippi Mud Cookie Bars.

I caught up with Ashley, the owner of the fabulous company, and here are a few things you should know.

About

Not As Famous Cookie Company was founded with the mission of supplying delectable gourmet products. Our freshly baked products are made with only the finest of ingredients: real butter, fine chocolates, select nuts, etc! We invite you to taste our various offerings. The experience should be tremendously satisfying to the pallet and the soul such that the customer feels the habitual desire to return.

Where are you located?

We are a mobile cookie truck that services Atlanta, GA and its metro area.

When did you start your business?

The idea of a cookie company was thought of years ago (actually soon after I was born) by my father. He created this same recipe when he lived out in LA with dreams of having a bakery and everyone getting the chance to taste this amazing cookie. Recently, as of this year that dream has become a reality.

What makes your company unique?

Our cookies are handcrafted and only the finest ingredients are used to make our delectable desserts. We do not use any preservatives in our cookies,  allowing for fresh baked cookies at all times.  The cookies recipes is a family secret that even my siblings (all 5 of them) do not know.

What is the one thing others may not know about your company’s journey?

Not As Famous Cookie Company is a shop that caters to cookie lovers and others with a sweet tooth that desire to purchase gourmet products at an affordable price. A great tasting cookie is an idea that my father, Mr. Ronald Carlton, envisioned many years ago.  He created several recipes for gourmet cookies which he intended to market to various businesses that desired an affordable gourmet product.  Watching him develop the base of these great recipes has inspired my aspiration/desire/want to further the development of the business with Mr. Ronald Carlton as a partner.

By nature and by purpose I’m an entrepreneur.  I’m inspired by others ideas and being able to help others make their dreams into reality.  I decided to go to Ball State University to major in their prestigious top 5 rated Entrepreneurship Program. While I in that program, I used my father’s idea as my final project for business school.  I created the business plan for the company, to prepare us for the day we decided to make this dream a reality. Believing in this business and wanting to fulfill my fathers dream of seeing his creation many years ago come to fruition drives me to keep going.

What are you current projects?

Grand opening of our cookie truck!!  I love Food Trucks and the idea of being able to be mobile for everyone to try out gourmet cookies is more than we could imagine.

What are you upcoming events?

We will be a part of The “Taste of Acworth” on October 17th.  This event will bring about 20,000 people and has a focus on local vendors.

We are also sponsoring  The 50 shades of Pink Foundation luncheon, founded by Dr. Jackie Walters. This luncheon serves over 100 women supporting their fight against Breast cancer.

If you are looking for a great addition to your upcoming holiday celebration or simply a snack with inspiration, make sure you check Not As Famous Cookie Company on its’ website and social media pages.
